Nutritional Value- Sago is a Good Source of energy.
100 gm of pearl sago provides100 calories, including approx 94 gm carbohydrate and very less amount of protein, fiber, fat.
Sabudana / Sago – 1/4 cup
Sugar – 1/4 cup
Milk – 200 ml
Badam Powder – 15 gms
Cardamom powder – 1 small pod crushed
Saffron strands for garnishing
Cashews – 3 in number
Raisins – 6 in number
Pistachios – Sliced for garnishing
Kick Start – Soak Sago for minimum 1 hour and a maximum of 5 hours.
Once, the soaked Sago is ready just walk the below steps.
1. Heat a non stick sauce pan with 2 tea spoon of Ghee / refined oil
2. Add in the cashews, raisins & cardamom sauté for 1/2 min
3. Add the milk
4. Allow the milk to boil well
5. Add in Badam Power
6. Stir for a 1 min
7. Add sugar
8. Add soaked Sago
9. Add Saffron strands
Allow the mixture to boil until Sago is soft and the liquid thickens to a pudding consistency. Turn off the heat keep on stand by for 15 mins.
Serve it hot / cold after refrigeration with Pistachios garnish.
Serve in a pudding bowl or a cocktail glass with long stem.
